- Cost: PHP 2,500 (~₹3,700) + service fee
- Stay: 30 days (extendable)
- Processing: 4–7 business days
- Advantage: Skip the VoA queue at the airport

- Total travel time: 8–14 hours depending on connection
- Fares: ₹25,000–55,000 return
Top Destinations
Palawan — El Nido & Coron
Often voted the world's best island. El Nido is in Palawan province.
El Nido (Island Hopping Paradise):
- Tour A: Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Shimizu Island — the classic
- Tour C: Hidden Beach, Helicopter Island, Matinloc Shrine, Star Beach
- Tour D: Bulalacao Island, Cadlao Lagoon, Nat-Nat Beach Book tours through guesthouses in El Nido town (~PHP 1,200–1,800 = ~₹1,800–2,700 per person, includes lunch)
Getting to El Nido: Fly to Puerto Princesa (from Manila, ~1 hour) then 5-hour van transfer, OR fly direct Puerto Princesa to El Nido via AirSwift (~35 min, more expensive).
Coron: Famous for WWII Japanese shipwreck diving (Coron Bay). Skeleton wrecks at 10–40m depth — world-class diving. Also: Kayangan Lake (arguably the Philippines' most photogenic lake).
Boracay
The most famous beach in the Philippines — White Beach, 4km of powdery white sand.
- 45-minute flight from Manila to Caticlan airport, then 15-minute boat
- Sunset on White Beach is spectacular — D'Talipapa market for fresh seafood BBQ
- Good for families, couples, and beach parties
Cebu & Bohol
Cebu:
- Whale shark interaction in Oslob (controversial — the sharks are fed, which disrupts natural behaviour, but popular)
- Kawasan Falls canyoneering: jump into turquoise pools through jungle canyons
- Magellan's Cross (historical landmark)
Bohol (day trip from Cebu or stay 2 nights):
- Chocolate Hills: 1,200+ perfectly cone-shaped grass-covered hills (turn brown in dry season — hence "chocolate")
- Tarsier sanctuary: the world's smallest primates (10cm tall)
- Loboc River cruise with live music
Siargao — Surfing Capital
Remote island in Surigao del Norte:
- Cloud 9: the world-famous surfing break, good September–November
- Magpupungko rock pools, Sugba Lagoon, island hopping
- Strong digital nomad and surfer community
Batanes — Northern Islands
The most remote and dramatic Philippine islands near Taiwan:
- Rolling green hills, stone villages, lighthouse roads — like Ireland in the tropics
- Filipino culture most preserved; Ivatan people
- Accessible only by flight from Manila (book months ahead)
Food in the Philippines for Indians
Filipino food is meat-centric but options exist:
- Sinangag: Garlic fried rice (commonly served at breakfast — specify no meat)
- Pancit: Stir-fried noodles (request vegetable pancit)
- Fruit: Mangoes are extraordinary (Guimaras mangoes may be the world's best)
- Kare-kare chay: Vegetarian version of the peanut sauce stew
- Most beach resorts have Indian food or pasta/pizza options
Budget Guide
| Style | Daily Budget |
|---|---|
| Budget (guesthouses, local food) | ₹2,000–3,500 |
| Mid-range | ₹4,000–7,000 |
| Luxury resort | ₹10,000+ |
Best Time to Visit
- November–May (dry season): Best weather for beaches and island hopping
- June–October (wet season): Cheaper rates, typhoon risk (especially July–October)
- Palawan and Boracay: Best November–April
- Siargao surfing: Best July–November (big waves)
